Estefanía Michel joined Mizuho Americas’ Project Finance team in May 2016. In this role, she promotes, originates, structures, and executes non-recourse, oil & gas sector project finance transactions in North and Latin America, specifically in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Brazil.

Estefanía has more than 12 years of experience in project financing in the Americas. She started her banking career in 2010 in Banobras – a Mexican Development Bank – where she focused mainly on renewable energy and power projects and later started executing projects in the oil & gas and infrastructure sectors.
After Banobras, Estefanía joined Santander and then Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank New York, where her project finance experience expanded to other countries in Latin America including Peru, Colombia, and Chile.

At Mizuho, Estefanía has participated in almost all financings relating to LNG projects in the US, generating more than $100 million in income in the last three years.

She graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM, México) with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics.
